This light and airy apartment has been restored and furnished in the manner of a Matisse painting with its decorative ironwork, very high ceilings and ancient beams. The living room has two tall french windows which open wide onto the cool and shady plane trees of the Boulevard Gambetta.


A wide stone staircase leads to the 'Matisse' apartment on the second floor of a town house built in the 1820s on the site of the ancient ramparts of Uzès. There is a free car park and a secure underground parking nearby. The apartment comprises:

Living room:

Floor tiles of pale ochre terracotta, cool white walls and very high ceilings with old beams. Sofa and child's antique cot, Moroccan coffee tables, 2 easy chairs, 1 marble top bistro table, large mirrorand hanging kelim, oil paintings, up lighters with dimmers and glass lamps on walls.

Corner kitchen,

round marble top dining table, decorative iron chairs, and a large ceiling fan to cool the apartment in summer. White cupboards, ceramic hob, extractor fan, oven, fridge, kettle, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, iron and vacuum cleaner, usual pots and pans and 6 place settings, serving dishes, cooking utensils.

Mezzanine bedroom
